Does anyone have any good/different wedding shower ideas?

I'm looking to have a brunch and I don't want it to be your typical boring party...

Make it a themed shower. I forced my mom to plan a Bling Bling shower for me. It adds fun to a boring shower. Another suggestion to make a shower fun is------Have open bar. I went to a shower with a open bar and it was the best shower I ever went (it was a BABY shower).

That's so funny, but I never thought of having an open bar... What a perfect solution! Thanks!

I am looking for good ideas as well... I am only registering on honeymoonwishes.com therefore there will not be the whole 2 hours opening of the gifts extravaganza. Needless to say, we will have a lot of time on our hands!!

I had a tea party! It was very elegant. I also wanted something different. Pics in my album.

My shower was a shopping, shoes and cosmo theme (those are my favorite things) and it was awesome. Instead of punch they had cosmos, well actually they had punch too but when I got there everyone was sipping martinis. It was fun. There are pics in my album.

My friends are having a cocktail party/luncheon for me. No opening of gifts, no games etc. It's really more of a girls afternoon in the city....

Tea parties are pretty big...but it depends on the crowd.

I am also having a vintage-style tea party and since I'm an out of town bride, I'm not opening any gifts (all are being shipped). So as a fun activity I'm planning to have a tarot card reader/ psychic.
