Does anyone have brown hair that they have had highlighted?
I want to highlight my hair for the summer, but I don't want to go blond. I want more of a light brown color. Has anyone done this?
Also, I am in Huntington Village.
Anyone have salon recommendations near the village?

try cactus on ny ave, by the cemetary. lots of people do it, so it shouldn't be a problem. i go to melanie, but pretty much everyone there is great!

Hi...
I highlight my hair in the spring,,and I have brown hair. My colorist puts in caramel highlights..very subtle......

I have brown hair and highlights. I go to Peter at Cactus on Jericho Tpke in Dix Hills...he does a great job and the color looks natural and never gets brassy looking.

I also have carmel highlights with a bit of red. I go to Brooklyn. It's far, but I've been going there for a long time and am afraid to try someplace new.

I have red hair and a few blonde highlights. It is very subtle. The only suggestion I can make is to make sure you get foil highlights and not cap high lights. I have yet to see cap highlights that look as good as foil highlights do. JMO.

I use the clairol frost and tip for $12. My mom does it for me. But I love the high lights and they get very blond in the summer

I know its not that close but how about Dakota South on jericho tpke. in woodbury? they are really good there, dorothy does amazing highlights and she goes by your complexion and hair color. I highly rec her.

I have sort of a caramel/honey color. I like it because I got them to mask my grey and it really brightens my hair without being a drastic change. I also get the foil highlights. My hairdresser did not want to do red, because she claims that the red doesn't wear as well and is the toughest color to get out if you don't like it.

I know, I know, I have accepted this as my new cross to bear.
Actually, I do very little in the way of pampering myself, my wedding manicure was only the 2nd one I had ever received. I decided my hair is the one thing I will splurge on, since I am too young to be grey
