Those are cymbidium orchids. They're not used in low centerpeices because the hang low and it would be on the table.
This is a smaller version.

Here's a better picture of a high centerpieces with pink roses in the center to make it more full. This is what I'm doing for my ceremony and memorial table flowers.

No... they are called dendrobium orchids. Cymbidium are bigger.

Here is a pic I found of a dendrobium orchid CPs.

(dont mind the purple...they come in white too)

They have very long stems, so it really is best to use them in a tall CP.

Those are dendrobium orchids which I am using mini ones. They are very expensive and take a lot to create volume as I am finding out. This is Cymbidium orchids.

magbride did something like that with high and low cps...u can look at her pics either in her album or in her review.

there are lots of different types of orchids around. i would bring the picture to the florist and ask them to recommend the best options.

I've never seen low CPs with Den. Orchids...I love them!!!!!!

Orchids are SO beautiful. But they're very pricey! I wanted to do orchid boquets for my BM's but one stem of it costs min. of $45.00!!!

I am going to the florist next Friday and wanted just a few orchids.....after reading this, I didn't realize how many orchids there are!!!

if you haven't booked a florist go see Flower Michele, b/c the 2x I been there hes had 2 centerpieces w/those flowers

We had our centerpieces done by Flowers Michele. We had a mix, with Calla Liilies and Roses.

Who knew there were so many types of orchids?! I love Dendrobium.
