Does anyone have problems with their dog not sleeping?

Missy hates to sleep at night and she is ruining our sleep. She is so restless and is up at least twice during the night and then at 5:30 a.m. and then never wants to go back to sleep. Its so frustrating because now, just to get enough sleep i have to go to bed at 10 (even on the weekends). Does anyone know if there is some sort of sleeping medicine that is safe for dogs to take every now and again. I wouldnt want to give it to her every night.

Is she a puppy? My dogs never slept at first. Umm, as for sleeping med, I don't know of any. You could try 50mg of Benedryl, I dunno if that would help. I would stay away from asprin.

hey~~ layla was like that until at least 9 or 10 months!!! it will go away!!! wait till a year!! it will come soon... sometimes layla wont get out of bed now...

I just try to tire her out before going to bed. I let her out in the dog park on our property and let her run in circles for awhile. But she's been pretty good with sleeping at night, only once in awhile have we gotten up to find she got into the tissues in the wastebasket, or ripped up a picture, or tore up my underwear or just be plain restless. She's only 5 months old.
