Does anyone have good friends that cannot make it to your wedding?
We are actually still trying to nail down a date, and because we're only 8 months out, we are finding that for all the dates we are considering (based on location and cost) there is a different friend that cannot be there on each date.
We are sleepless over this, trying to get a date and plan a wedding we can afford, and I don't know what to do.
I am ready to give up and just not even have a wedding

Pick the date that works best for you! You will drive yourself crazy trying to please everyone. We obsessed over dates and days of the week and finally just went with what worked best for us. In the end the majority of the people who were unable to make it showed up even though we had a Sunday wedding at the end of August.

Re: Does anyone have this problem?
we didn't even ask our friends for their opinions ... we asked our immediate families if they were available on the date we wanted, and once we came up with one, we booked.
good luck!

I don't have that problem but it happens a lot of times. You can't plan around everyone's schedule. You guys will make yourselves insane! Take it from me who haven't enjoyed her engagement for the past 15 months, enjoy this time. If people have trips planned and you are that important to them then they will move them. Try to have fun with all of this, pick a date that works best for you both and your families and start planning. Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon, and Sunday evening. You can even do the morning if you need to.
Good luck! Hope it all works out!

Definitely pick what works for you and your fam as well as price range bc thats what matters most. If a friend doesnt make it...then its there loss ya know ;) I had one friend who I assumed would come but she had to baptize her brothers fiancee that night since it was easter vigil.

Thanks girls. Yeah, we're finding a lot of friends have weddings already, and many are in the BP...
I know we should be planning for us, but it's tough.

Re: Does anyone have this problem?
It can be tough but the whole night is about the TWO of you! While its nice to consider your friends feelings and schedules you need to think about what the both of you want and what is right for your budgets! If some of your friends can not make it, it stinks but it all about the both of you and what you guys like.

Re: Does anyone have this problem?
I wouldn't even ask friends. Only bc then they can manipulate ur decision and it sounds like either way ur gonna pick a date that's not good for at least one person, then that person could end up making u feel really bad and upset. I would pick a date that's best for U and FH, be athorative, send a std and if they can't make it, oh well oh well!

I feel the same, I didn't ask anyone what was convenient for them. They'll make it work! Just choose whatever is best for you.

you have to pick a date that works for you! not a date that will work for everyone else! there will always be someone who will not be able to attend

Gonna repeat what all the other smart brides are telling you- Plan the date for yourselves. I orig planned around OOT family- I basically screwed myself out of the date I had planned ( in my head)for years and now its not even a definate they can come.
