Does anyone know ...

I saw in a magazine that at some receptions when people walk in there are already drinks on the table(like a signature drink)do you know if the hall charges you extra for this or what I would even ask for. I saw a really interesting red drink that I'd like to have on all the tables.

Yes, they do charge extra. You need to call your reception place and ask about it. Everyplace is different.

not sure about walking into the reception but i would think if you had open bar they would do it.

i am having martini's and cosmo's instead of champagne when my guests walk into the hall for the cocktail hour. Like i said you are paying for the alcohol so i'd imagine it would be ok but call to verify.

i would think most halls would include it.. especiallyif you're paying for an open bar. because anyone can walk up and be like hi i'll have a flaming monkey, so maybe you just want to make a flaming monkey 'your' drink.

now i need to go look up and see if a flaming moneky exists and what is in it.

Please let me know if there is such a thing as a flaming monkey because I'll go out and order just to see FH face.
Im gonna check when we finally get down to NRC to drop deposit. They are serving champagne with strawberrys as you arrive to cocktail hour and we are having a martini slide during ch(can you tell we are a drinking crowd)FH works for Budweiser! I saw in Brides though that when you walk into the reception they had this blood red drink(dont remember the name, sounded good though)in frosted glasses at each setting with choc. dipped strawberries next to the glass. It just looked really beautiful.

this is part of our package-- do you have a champagne reception? where people will be handed champagne as they walk in? Just substitute the signature drink.. and hopefully they will not charge any more..

Re: Does anyone know ...

we do have them serving champagne at the ch but I don't want to change that. I just want this for the beginning of the reception maybe instead of the champagne toast though. What about that or do you think that's messing with tradition not that I should care since champagne makes me ill.

I hear ya on champagne! Yuck!

If we could, margaritas as a starter!

FH would love it but, not realistic. Oh well!

Margaritas are FH drink. He got me hooked and I passed it on to my mother who lets just say that would be a bad choice for her but would probably make a hell of a photo album!!
