Does anyone know...

where one can donate prom/formal/bridal party dresses? I have a few that are very classic and not tacky and thought it would be nice to donate to a high school for girls who can't afford a prom dress. Any suggestions?

TIA

I actually think the school I work in does something like that. The district is very divided - there are kids who have millions, and kids who are living in tiny houses with 3 other families. If you want give Bay Shore a call and ask them.

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow!

Look up the number for Eastern suffolk Boces... They accept donations for gowns to be used for their prom. The children given the gowns are either in families with financial hardships, foster homes, or to mentally impaired children whose families can barely afford their medical needs. Its a great facility and I know that they are always in need of dresses. Good Luck!

I contacted my church and they told me about a program that accepts gowns for girls who can't afford prom dresses, but unfortunately I don't have that info anymore. If you call your local church (or temple) they may have that type of info.

One of my friends is a teacher and she said her district does it. She is in Levittown. I would guess you could call your local high school and ask if they have a program.

I think I want to get rid of a few BM dresses, too
