I stayed here... nice, but I think more of a party scene (b/c there is a club & casino) in the hotel. Very nice- but I think there are a few other hotels (like the Conquistador that someone mentioned or the Ritz) that might be more upscale & relaxing for a HM. Awesome local food though in PR! I had a great trip!!

I 2nd the san juan hotel & casino. It is located in a good spot too (isla verde), on the strip (though the beaches there aren't huge, all the hotel beaches are right there). & it is close enough to Old san juan & little convenience shops.
Plus it is gorgeous. Though I heard great things about el conquistador as well. I haven't stayed there. Depends what you want to do while there & go.

we stayed at the el san juan when we went ..its very nice
we vsited the el conquistador also but it out of the way ...its gorgeous though
the ritz carlton is very nice if you want to spend the money

Oh yes the Ritz forgot about that. My uncle works there & I must say it is a gorgeous hotel!!!

I love puerto rico. Going there for my bachelorette party memorial day.
We've stayed at intercontinental which has an amazing pool and is on the beach. It's also next door to the El San Juan.
The problem with El San Juan is that they have a club which might be really loud at night.
Intercontinental, El San Juan are close to the trendy spots.
Condado is close to old san juan (nice cafes, bars)so it depends on what you are looking for

This is where we are staying, its in Old San Juan. It was an old convent they converted to a hotel. It looks gorgeous.

i also found the paradisus and copomarina they are all inclusive
anyone know of em?

From what I remember the paradisus is no longer all inclusive and has changed names, although still looks very nice. I have never heard of the copomarina but i thought there were no AI in PR.
EDIT: I just searched Copamarina, looks good. It says its the first hotel in PR to offer AI.

I AM GOING TO SAN JUAN TOO FOR MY HONEYMOON, WE LEAVE ON MARCH 31ST AND WE ARE STAYING AT THE INTERCONTIENTAL, IF YOU LOOK ONLINE YOU CAN SEE THE PICTURES THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL AND NOT FAR AT ALL FROM THE AIRPORT

I was just there this summer -- it is a beautiful property and does have a casino -- not huge but decent.

yes they do have club but it really does not disturb the sleeping rooms at all. If you are in the lobby as people start to leave then that is a little chaotic but it is open to 5 or 6 am so unless you are down there in from 4 am on you wouldn't even know it was there.

El Conquistador in Fajardo is UNBELIVABLE!!!!! It's a little bit of a drive but everything is amazing from the food, to the resort...i loved it so much i was trying to get my parents to let us get married there. It's AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
You will not be disappointed, it would be a perfect honeymoon spot. It's sooo nice. The food is A+++++
