Re: Does anyone know a good way to chart...
from what my OB told me and my best friend....you count from the day you get AF (Aunt Flo) to Day 1 of the next period...that is your cycle. Divide that in half and that should be when or around when you ovulate.....lets say your cycle is 28 days...around day 14 is when you'd ovulate...you should have relations on day 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18.....too many girls have said that works for them! Sperm can live up to week the dr said...
I thought that TCOYF was a great book. It really teaches you how to know your own body, what signs to look for ect. Too many times in life women are told that they should have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 14. When you are TTC if you go off of that common misconception then you could be doing the baby dance at the wrong time making your efforts useless. For instance, I have a 3 day cycle with the first four days being my period. I have also learned that I have a 13 day luteal phase (amount of days between ovulation and the start of your next period) and that on most months I will ovulate on calander day 17. If I was banking on the 'You ovulate on calander day 14' rule then I would def. stop having sex by calender day 17 and pretty much never get pregnant.
I bought the OVUSOFT software (this software is from tcoyf.com aand is endorsed by the writer, Dr. Toni W.) to help me chart. I like it because it gives you predictions and such based on your own information that you put in.
Fertilityfriend.com is a place that you can set up charting for a free (for basic stuff) or you can become a VIP member and get a lot more information/support/chatrooms and such.
