Does anyone know about the star program

I was on the website and i am confused lol

I live in a coop in queens would i fill out NYC or non NYC

If anyone else can give me info i would appreciate it

I'd imagine you're NYC sinc you live in the NYC school district... but I'm not 100%. Looking for you though! Cause I'm bored in class.

ETA, I can't find anything but I would just call the 888 number. Honestly though, I'm not sure it would have occurred to me to ask, I woul dhave just filled out the NYC app if you hadn't asked but I'd def double check.

He proposed doing away with the STAR rebate checks that are mailed out each year but as of now, the STAR program that reduces your tax bill every year is still in place.

Every homeowner should file a STAR application. The deadline in Nassau is 12/31 and in Suffolk 3/1.

the tax star better not be done away with! thats like 1k off the tax bill every year!!!!

It's not going to be done away with. The only part that *might* be done away with is the extra refund homeowners were receiving every year.

As far as the credit on the tax bill, it's pretty much there to stay. Politically, they know it's a death sentence for any politician who votes to repeal it.

I was worried about it too since we're buying our first home. It's safe though.

I do this for a living.

Obama did away with it. This is this 1st year we did not get it.
