Does anyone know about wine tastings- how much, which vineyard did you go to etc.
Any info you have is greatly appreciated! TIA

Hey, Amy. I assume you're talking about the vineyards in the North Fork. A great website to check out is www.liwines.com. They have all the wineries and the information. On average, the wineries charge between $3-10 for tastings (about 5-6 wines each tasting), depending on whether you do regular or reserve wines. In addition, sometimes they have special wines (like some dessert wines or champagne) where you pay extra money to taste. I think some wineries still have free tastings, but not sure which one. Some of my favorites are: Raphael (I'm slightly biased because I'm also getting married there), Pindar, Paumanok, The Old Field (never actually tasted the wine, but their location is gorgeous), and Macari. Feel free to ask me more questions if you have any. :)
Thanks SOOO much- I want to set up a wine tasting 'thing' for my guests in between the ceremony and CH. I was thinking Palmers because it's close to Giorgios. I've never been-have you? Any other recommendations within 20 mins, (pref. less) of Giorgios- cheap (key word) nice touch is what I was going for.
Hey, Amy, I've been to Palmer and I like their wines, too, and they have a beautiful vineyard. If you're looking to set up a group tasting, you should also ask them or any other winery whether they can give you discounts or special treats. I'm not sure where exactly Giorgio's is, but of all the ones I've tried, Paumanok in Aquebogue, Laurel Lake in Laurel Lake, Martha Clara in Riverhead, and Macari in Mattituck aren't far from Palmer, so they're probably within 20-30 minutes of Giorgio's, and they're all good.
