Does anyone know any thing about regulations for movers? update!

My furniture was guarenteed to arrive before the 3rd (which is tomorrow) I can't get a staight answer out of either the Shipping agent or the Receiving agent (both are united) about where or WHEN my furniture will be arriving - My furniture was guarenteed to arrive between the 26th and the 3rd. One tells me the driver will call a few days before to confirm time and date - but that it will be here tomorrow to check the tracking system for info (it says that there is NO ACTIVE ACCOUNT)- The receiving company tells me NO WAY - the driver is still in NY and that he is still picking up AS OF THE 3rd!!!! SO they have NO idea when it will be here - it could be anytime in the next say two weeks!

Does anyone know how to file a complaint to get some of my moving costs back - and do I file it with United - or the shipping or the receiving agent?
My guess would be united but not sure?

I don't know what to do - they have most of my clothes - all my papers, and my furniture! I am afraid that something happened to my stuff which is why I can't get an answer out of either company - My father has tried and has gotten the same run around.

I don't know what you could do except contact the corportate offices...but I will teel you not to worry too much...the reason for the delay and the storage is probably b/c they are trying to get a full load to go to your new area....and maybe they don't have a full load yet, so they are trying to delay...


but I can imagine it must be tough to wait...

Well that is the issue apparently there are already 4 people going on this truck - what we can't understand is that they all claim he HAS to deliver the other two loads in Chicago by the 5th - but they HAVE to deliver me first - --basically we are getting two completely different stories out of the two companies - and the corporate tells me I have to deal with the shipper and the reciever

I finally got someone at corporate to talk to me (they kept telling me I couldn't talk to them until my furniture was actually late (so since they are closed on weekends that would have been Monday)

They now tell me my furniture should arrive between the 7th and the 10th
