I heard that this is the new up and coming 'spot'. So I was thinking of maybe doing the Bach. Party down there. Please tell me your thoughts on this and any info you might have.

I live in GA. Savannah is a HOT stop for St. Patricks Day events. It gets booked a year in advanced. It's beautiful, touristy but not much of a party place (IMO)... Ever been to Atlantic City? Outside of the casino's it's pretty slummy, well that's the same thing with Savannah. It is beautiful though and has a ton of history. As a 'Yank' in the south, it's not my kind of history. They have great bars!

Check out the movie/book 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil'...that is Savannah. It is absolutely gorgeous - as far as the homes and cobblestone roads go. The 'happening area' is small - packed with bars/restarurants and shops...the surrounding area is really, really poor.

I went just after I read it...and went on a mad search at the cemetary for 'Bird Girl' (the statue on the cover). Didn't find her...and after we returned I had read that due to so many visitors, they moved her 2 years prior to my visit.

I was just in Charleston, SC and heard so much about Savannah... so I just read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and told DH we are going there for St. Pats Day next year!
