I thought of that, but it I figured it may get kind of tedious to do 85 invitations...but I may end up doing that

Just a heads-up...unless this is an inner envelope, you might not want to go through the effort. I usually open envelopes with an envelope opener and wouldn't even notice it. So it could end up being a lot of effort that some people won't notice if it's a fully sealed envelope, KWIM? If it's an inner one though, that's hella cute!!!!

my friend did that and people just mangled the envs when they opened them :(

you'd HAVE to do them as an inner envelope. It's a LOT of work cutting and gluing but if you're into that you may not mind the work involved.

I did envelope liners with patterned paper. I imagine this is the same thing. We cut out a 'template' liner and then used an exacto knife to cut the patterned paper for the liners. Then we used regular Elmer's glue stick to glue it in. I only glued it to the envelope flap and then folded it over to give it the proper crease. It was easy, but tedious and I had 2 people helping me!
