Does anyone know how many hours the plane ride is from NY to Ireland?

Does anyone know how many hours the plane ride is from NY to Ireland?

Is the jet lag really bad?

I am thinking for our 1st Anniversary a trip to Ireland.

But this will be more of a long weekend, 4 - 5 days (Wed - Sunday or Monday).

Is it to much to do in a that amount of time?

Flying time to Ireland is 6½ hours from New York, 7½ hours from Chicago, 10 hours from Los Angeles, 1 hour from London, and 27 hours from Sydney.

Are you planning on going to work the day after you get home? There is some (its not too bad) but it takes about a day to recover. Now one time I did the flight to Israel and that quite knocked me out. I think it was about 11 hours.

It's about 5 1/2 hours going from New York to Ireland and about 6 1/2 hours going from Ireland to New York (because of the headwinds).

I do those flights 2 or 3 times a year at least.

I find that the jetlag is worse when you got to Ireland rather than when you come back from Ireland - but thats just me.

It is a lot for a long weekend but do it! You'll have a great time. Just stick to one or 2 places and you'll be fine!

I agree, it's because you're gaining time on the way back. I do 4-5 days for visits to NY from London all the time. Definitely doable.

I just got back from Ireland 3 weeks ago & I can tell you the jet lag kicked our arses when we got back. 1st time it really ever happened.

I did a weekend getaway there once & I was fine. Your body pretty much stays on NY time. So, you don't feel it that much. IMO

Great point IrishTracy - I did a 4 day trip back in June and if you just try to keep your body on American time (go to bed LATE, wake up LATE - not hard to do there are plenty of pubs and clubs to go to to help!!), since it's only for a few days you should be fine.
