Does anyone know how the fundraiser went?

I hope it was a great turnout as well.


I came on last night hoping for pics.....but I still see none

I was there last night...

I think they were hoping for a better turnout. I'm sure they are still accepting donations, if you want to give a little something. I think some of the items went for a lot less than they were hoping for.

I was able to get my custom made aisle runner from LA Blossom (!!!), my Yankee garter, a beautiful Beverly Clark ring pillow, a beautiful Beverly Clark silver heart shaped pen/pen holder, a hand painted vase and tissue holder, etc - all for better than retail prices - all while donating to a great cause. The vendors were so generous with what they donated! I was in a bidding war for a limo ride from Serenity limos, and I finally conceded at the last second when the bid hit $275! lol. It was a lot of fun!

My friend (debbiedee77) got a beautiful hand painted vase and a night at a hotel out east.

Chateau La Mer donated EVERYTHING... the food was PHENOMENAL. The passed hors deourves were the best I think I've ever had at a wedding! They even brought the Chocolate Fountain out again! (thank God there's another 6 days until my weight watchers weigh in!). The STAFF at Chateau La Mer even donated THEIR time. Of course, LIWEDDINGS even putting it together was the most generous of all! It was great to see the liwedding family, and meet 'GoingNutty'. 'Debsey' (and her mom!)and 'LipGlossJunky' - among many others!

We really had a nice time, and it was nice to help a great cause - and get so many wedding related projects accomplished in the meantime!

I don't know the numbers from last night at all, but I really think it was less than expected and hoped for. I just think it would be nice and very helpful if everyone who couldn't make could send a LITTLE something in to the fund they set up to make up for the less-than-overwhelming turnout. Even if everyone sent $5-10 bucks, I'm sure that would make the organizers of last night's event happy while trying to make up the difference of what was expected.

It was a lovely night, and again thanks to liweddings for being there for a member of our extended family! It was also nice meeting Janet and Krystina, and I wish them the absolute best... God Bless them.

Actually many who signed up didn't show. I felt bad for CLM because the food they prepared was based on how many people signed up!

But all in all it was great! Didn't finish counting everything yet but I can tell you we surpassed the goal we set for the event!

oh, that's great! I shouldn't have spoken, then! I was basing it on how many more people we thought would be there... sorry! What do I know?

But, I guess you guys wouldn't turn away MORE donations, right?

Of course we would welcome them. We had a goal for the event. That is not the ultimate goal to complete everything!

Unfortunately we could not attend because we had to attend 'curriculum night' at my daughter's 'big kid school.' i was bummed....i really wanted to go....

It was a great time. Many thanks should go to LIW and Chateau. It was put together very nicely. The food was great. The items in the auction were awesome, my boss ended up winning most of them. Let’s see, she won Yankee tickets with a limo ride, phantom of the opera tickets, a baby book basket, a body wash basket, a novel basket, etc…… She had such a great time. It took 4 us of to carry the stuff to her car.
Some many vendors really went out of their way. Eddie from Serenity Limo was such a great person, Nick at Chateau was amazing and of course the LIW crew always do more than expected.
Janet is such a sweet person and I truly hope everything works out for her. Her daughter was one of the nicest kids I have ever met, so polite and thankful.

Wow! That is so great to hear. I am glad that it went that well. I would have loved to come but being that my wedding is so close, I still had a lot to do. How long will you be accepting donations?
