i'm asking for a friend. he wants to completely reinstall windows. i think he wants to wipe out everything and start over. anyone know how or know a site with step by step instructions? thanks!

FH is a computer technician. He said if you use the original Windows CD-ROM, when you put it in it will ask you if you want to format. Just follow the directions. Just make sure you save (on a floppy or CD) any important files that you don't want to lose. If you have any other questions, FM me and I can ask FH for you. He could maybe even come to your friend's house and help him with it.
