Does anyone know of a reception site that

we could have our wedding at and have people stay. I am really stressing out b/c I have at least 20 people coming from Ireland for my wedding and no place to put them.

Fox Hollow Inn in Woodbury- they have a really nice suite-style hotel right next door!

Harrison House

If you have your wedding at Chateau Briand the Holiday Inn is literally right next door.

I'm getting married in the ballroom at the Inn at East Wind. They have hotel rooms for your guests (we are actually staying there the night of the wedding too!). The rooms are alittle on the expensive side, but they do give you a certain percentage off the rooms if you book your wedding there. Good luck!

The Harrison House and Fox Hollow have Hotels. The Garden City & Roslyn Claremont Hotels have a banquet room for weddings.

I am sure there are a lot of others too.

Thanks for the suggestions but I am looking for 'house' type place that we can rent the house out for like a week and have the wedding there also.

I am so ready to call of this whole wedding. I want to marry my FH, I love him to bits but it has been one problem after another. I dont want to spend all of this $. aghhhhhhhhh!!!!

What area are you looking in? I've got a lot of people coming from the UK, so we've booked rooms at Danford's in PJ. We will have a bus take our OOT guests from hotel to church and then to reception and back at the end of the evening. We chose Port Jeff because it's easily accessible by train from Manhattan and there is plenty for OOT'ers to do in the town if they are arriving early or staying late. Plus, there are a few pubs in town. WE plan on taking the bus back to the hotel also and will stay there on our wedding night so that we can go out with our guests who have traveled so far to be with us.

I love the Danfords idea but I know that they are not going to want to pay that much to stay there. How long are your OOT's staying for?

I just went to a wedding in Stroudsburg PA. While I know that is not near here it may be an option. My cousin was married at the Stroudsmoor Inn. I can tell you they did not pay anything near what we pay here in NY. It is an Inn so there are plenty of rooms. There are hotels close by as well. We stayed at the Hampton Inn. It was great and inexpensive.

Here is the website

The food was very good and the atmosphere was very cozy. We had a great time.

Fm me if you want more info. Good Luck!

Danford's quoted me $129/night. Not bad, I thought. Plus, I also booked rooms at the Heritage Inn, which is a motel kind of place around the corner for $99/night.

I think my FMIL is coming out on Wednesday. BM (his brother) on Friday. Not sure about his Dad yet. Some people will fly in during the week and stay in the city and then take the train out on Sat. I wanted to give them options.

Actually, we were just at Danford's on Saturday and I think it's actually a nice place for a wedding. They have private rooms, a huge bar and big dance floor upstairs.

Good luck.

BTW--East Wind's rooms are all suites (I think) and their prices are outrageous! All $250 or more...

The Holiday Inn at Fox Hollow can get really expensive. If you have guest traveling from so far away you may not want to have them staying at a hotel thats going to cost them over $200/ night. I had my wedding at Woodbury Country Club and blocked rooms at the Melville Marriot. It was $129/ night (on sat night) and you could get a shuttle to bring them back and forth.
I have also been to really nice weddings at the Huntington Hilton, there are two ballrooms there and your guests can stay over night.

Re: Does anyone know of a reception site that

where is your reception? we are having ours at Verdi's and we booked rooms for the irish guests at the Holiday Inn which is down the road from Verdis. **Also gave them the website www.vacationrentals.com since some inquired about rentals (they think it's like home where there's rentals all over the place). But they'll have to call for taxis if they end up doing that. It's cheaper though - depending on the time of year your wedding is.
**We also blocked a hotel up here near where we live and will provide a bus if enough decide to book there. I figure give them the option of where to stay.

Otherwise the only one I can think of is a Marriott...
