Does anyone know the heartbeat theory?

Babies hearbeat last night was 140 I am 11 weeks. Is it high for a girl low for a boy? whats considered high? Is it to early to tell? Dr. said that theory is not true at all. Thanks!!

I know the theory doesn't work!!!

The baby's heartrate changes so much over the course of a day. You'll see this when her/his heartrate is being monitored when you are in labor. It's really amazing. It can go from like 125 to 150 in no time. Plus it can change depending on how much sugar you've had. Sophias every time they checked would be low - one time it was around 145 but usually it was a lot lower than that.

My Dr. said that theory and the 'carrying a basketball means a boy' theory are both just old wive's tales! I carried what looked EXACTLY like a basketball and as far as I can tell Sophie is ALL GIRL!!!!

It's fun to play with the theories though...

It sounds too low to be a girl but I am no expert. Everyone that I have checked into had like heartbeat rates or 160-170 and it was a girl and those with a boy were like 150's.

Good luck either way!!!

I disagree. I went for my appt yesterday and the heart rate was 164BPM and according to the sono he is a boy. So I agree with Jenny and the old wives tale
