This is going to sound ridiculous but it always works for me.

Put a carbonated drink like pepsi or something in a cup and put a napkin over it. Drink it with the napkin on it. (you will be sipping through the napkin)
Sounds weird but it seems to work 99% of the time!

Eat a spoonful of sugar or put a metal spoon over the top of a glass an then drink the full glass with the spoon touching your upper lip. Don't know if I explained it right but it works!!!

I believe hiccups are caused from swallowing air? The only way I've ever been able to get rid of them is by holding my breath!

drink upside down (Bending over, drinking out of far end of the glass) ALways works for me!

These are all funny, the people in my office are going to start looking at me like there goes that weirdo again thanks for all the responses. I am definitely going to try them and see what works.

What usually helps me is taking a deep breath - holdin my breath for a few seconds and then swallowing before you take a breath - hope it helps!

this is definatly going to sound bizarr but it always works

get a glass of water. put it on the table. take your fingers and put them in your ears kinda like pushing your ears together so you cant hear anything. then lean over, grab the cup with your teeth, lean back and drink the water. drink what you can you dont have to drink all of it. but try not to fill the glass to the top or it may spill all over you.

extremely bizarr i know, but it works

hicccups are caused by the EVIL EVIL DEMONS in your belly jumping around. trying to get your food upset. hehe

I do this everytime
Boil some water and then drink it down from the teapot while its boiling. that should cure it
hehehe

OF COURSE IM JOKEING NOBODY DO THIS
it is funny though

anyways what I always do it take a spoonfull of sugar and let it slowly disolve in my mouth while tilting my head back and looking at a light

OK, first stand on your head, then hold your nose, click your heels together and repeat 'there's no place like home' 4 times,stand up and do 7 jumping jacks while holding a cup of water with your teeth and then go take a shower.

Actually, just do what ThreeTwenty suggested. I do that and it actually does work

shamma...you are not too old...I ALWAYS get hiccups...and they are uncontrolable, bodyjarring and LOUD...they come out of nowhere...and there is nothing I can do but wait them out...I have tried every trick that people give me...and nada...

but DH can cure his by pretending that he is breathing through a coffee stirrer...just that little bit of air...it works for him...but never me...the whole house knows when I have the hiccups...
