Does anyone live in KingsPark, Smithtowun or Commack?
DH and I are planning to move back to LI and we currently considering the following areas KingsPark, Smithtown, and Commack. Any insight will be helpful.

Beautiful areas!!!! Commacks taxes tend to be a little higher but I like all the areas you named.

very very nice areas (a little expensive) - I'd love to live in any of those towns - the only potential problem is the LONG commute to NYC if you have to work there

I lived in Kings Park for my whole life and I love it here! Unfortunately it is too expensive for us to buy a house here
There is a good school district here, close to parkway/expressway, local beaches... Anything specific you want to know?

I grew up in Commack and I live in Nesconset (town of Smithtown) now. I love it here. My only complaint is that the taxes are insane. DH works mostly from home so the commute isn't an issue, but door to door to Grand Central used to take him about an hour and a half each way, so it's a bit of a hike. He used to take the express from Ronkonkoma.

I grew up in Nesconset and DH grew up in Commack... both love where we lived! We are planning on moving back to either commack or the smithtown area.

We just moved to Smithtown and love it. It has alot of old towne charm. Yes the taxes are crazy, I actually found the taxes lower in Commack but the prices of the homes there the same or higher. You will get a better deal in Kings Park or Nesconset for the price, but not much. We bought a home that needed some updating, so the price was not outrageous.

Smithtown is a very nice area
My cousins live in Kings Park...that has good and bad areas...
Commack has good and bad areas too I think (some great shopping though!!)

I grew up in Smithtown (on the Commack border) and went to Smithtown schools. I love it there. I would move back in a second, but DH does not like LI at all. Commack is also a great area.

All are great areas if you can afford the prices go for it!
KP is really a nice area my FH and my brothers wife both grew up a block from the HS which is such a picture perfect little neighborhood! The schools are good but from what I hear (FMIL works in the schools) they are not as good as they were a few years ago!
FHs cousins live in Smithtown which is a great School district! The opportunities that have been presented to them in their schools blow me away! I never got those options!

We live in Commack but are part of the Hauppauge School district. The taxes are lower. We love the neighborhood!!!

I grew up in Commack and after looking at homes in other areas, I never realized how good i had it
I wish we could move back to Commack I love the sidewalks and tree lined streets and the feeling i always had of being safe cant be beat. ..... we just cant afford it now. My parents taxes are pretty low because of the star program. otherwise they would be close to $7,000

I grew up in Commack as well and now that I look back, I can see that I had it really good as well. FH and I would love to get back into that area but the prices of houses there are too high for us.

We have a house in Commack and love it here. I love the sidewalks thats one reason we bought here. We also like being right near the Sunken Meadow so we get right on to go to work. FH works in Queens and he says its not bad. Plus the school district is one of the best...Our taxes arent too bad

My dad lives in a development in Commack. I guess it's nice- he has a new construction home that he bought 10 years ago. I have no idea what the taxes are like..
I guess growing up in the South Shore I really didn't like Commack b/c when I was a kid I felt like everything was spread out and everything was far away- but I like going there now- except it's VERY far from the city IMO.

My in law's are about to put their house up for sale. As soon as they have some pictures or a website I will be sure to share here. They are in St. James which is a part of the Town of Smithtown.
