Does anyone not use baby-food from jars?

Does anyone not use baby-food from jars?

I seem to remember a neighbor of mine (many years ago) she would feed her baby whatever the rest of the family was eating (chicken, veggies, pasta, etc..) She would just grind it up in the blender or food processor and feed him that way...

Anyone ever hear of this or do this themselves?

The type of food depends on what age baby you are talking about but yes you can make your own baby food.

I have made Aidan several things when he was first having pureed foods, like squash, sweet potatoes, basically any fruit or veg that could be pureed and I would freeze in the little glad disposables or an ice tray.

By the time he started having meat though, I would just give him little pieces cut up and it didn't need to be pureed, depends when you introduce.

I got this book,

Super Baby food
it was good for recipes.

This also a good website for info
Wholesome Baby Food

Hope this all makes sense, it was fun to do and good for baby and easy on wallet. I still bought some jars for convenience when travelling, etc.
