Re: does anyone one feel this way....
I totally understand how you feel. Its normal though to want everyone to be as excited as we are in planning our weddings. I'm sure they will get more into it when it gets closer to the date. Good luck!

yea some times boys can be like that.... its hard for me too cause i get super excited about planning any type of party- and this is like THE party...... at least you have us to be excited about weddings with you.

I sometimes feel this way....it's amazing , when I got engaged I felt like (and still feel like) since my thoughts are revolving around the wedding, that everyone else's was too...I started to understand that no one can be as excited as me because I am the bride...I think you should take what you can get. But with FH I would tell him that it's a bit hurtful that he is not more into it...

Re: does anyone one feel this way....
you are not being selfish! :) you are being a normal bride, a bride that just wants some help, advice, feedback or even just their oppinion on some things and i know exactly how you feel! i have 11 girls in my bp and sadly to say out of those 11 girls only about 3 of them are really there for me right now thru the planning process and willing to help with anything i need, or to even just give advice and oppinions. those 3 are about the only girls who seem interested in this whole wedding and the rest i think can care less! they dont even call if i dont call them, and dont even seem to care about anything with the wedding! i stopped calling them just to see how long itd take them to pick up their phone and call me to find out any other info on anything coming up with the wedding stuff and its been over 2 months and i have not spoken to at least 6 of them! its pretty sad but what are you going to do!? yess i wont lie, most of them work 24-7 or are back in school but still.. so you are not being selfish, i feel the same way! :( not to even mention fh can care less about anything i pick for the wedding. he just tells me get what you want and like i dont care! ughh, they dont realize that is not what we want to hear, we want them to care and help.. ahh, the typical guy! lol! just hang in there and just dont drive yourself crazy over this, i have learned myself to put it behind me and not let it ruin my wedding planning as much as part of me is hurting because of my bms, but what are you going to do? its either your going to let them ruin this time for you, or just ignore them.. and that is what i am doing and what you should do! :) sorry for the long post, hehe! hoped i made some kind of sence and helped.. haha!

I totally understand!!! I am obsessed with the planning and I love all the lil details that I am doing, but its really only ME that gets this excited. My FH is the same way and honestly they are guys, doesnt matter if its their wedding its the girly stuff that gets us excited. You really cant expect him to get as excited as you and you really cant be mad at him either. =/ I just do it by myself and Im MUCH happier that way! I get what I want and I dont have to 'double check' with him... I find it annoying when FH tells me we talk too much about the wedding that we DO have other things going on in our lives that we can talk about. And I get it and hes right at times. You cant lose yourself or your other interests or your life cause your now devoted to the wedding. Because after its over then what??? So its good to make sure you talk about other things =)) Plus you can share with us and your gf's... =))

Re: does anyone one feel this way....
I understand as well! My FH never has an opinion on anything..Even stuff non wedding related. I've come to deal with that after living together for over a year all ready. As for My sister (MOH) who lives in the same house as my FH and I, I get absolutely nothing from her, not even an hello when she walks in the door, and have reconsidered the MOH position that she sorta elected herself into. It's my fault b/c I didn't say 'no' at the time but we'll see what happens.
I think your being a 'normal' bride. You, as does the rest of us, want the absolute best you can get for your wedding and that means asking for advice on what the best is. Most people, including your BM's, however, don't see what you see because it's not them wanting it. They don't really care what every detail on the invite looks like. To them it's just an invite. I know when I was a BM for my Friends wedding I was just as into the planning as she was, so she lucked out, but that's my personality. Not everyone is like that. They have their own things to deal with. I do however, think that if they accepted the BM invitation that they do have a small responsibility to help when absolutely needed and try not to hinder the wedding process for example by never getting back to you on important issues.

DH didn't care what I picked, he just wanted to know the price of things lol. We picked all of our vendors together, but he left the fine details to me. Most guys don't care about the fine details. Have him help pick out the major vendors then do everything else on your own on what you know you both like. There will be less arguments for sure!

I think we all feel that way at one point or another. If you want him to be more involved, then you have to tell him.
