Friends of ours have one and they like it - however they said for the money they feel they could have done better like a Mercedes or BMW.

oh and Erica, my old boss had one & they said brakes or whatever are soooo expensive to repair.

My FFIL had one and didnt like it. He said it drove like a truck very rough and bumpy....just not comfortable at all. He got rid of it a year later.

FI and I just got the GMC Envoy...we were going to look at the Discovery but just couldnt after his feedback.

thanks for the feedback...keep it coming...

the rough riding doesn't bother me so much...as we need it for rough driving in Mexico...we are also thinking of a Wrangler...so thats rough too...

but it doesn't seem like feedback is too good here

I don't own one, but my FSIL had a Land Rover and now has a Range Rover and had nothing but problems with them. I'm sorry to give you more negative feedback, but it's probably better to know before you buy! I love how they look, but after seeing what my FSIL has gone through I'd choose to spend my money on something more reliable.

I second the GMC Envoy - its a great truck with a great ride. Jeeps are great too.

What about the Honda Pilot? I'm a big fan of Honda, you can't beat their customer service.

A friend of mine just got the Freelander, which she loves, but she's only had it about 2 weeks. It's the new lower end smaller one which is different than the Discovery.

i love the freelander - we may get one after the wedding - but now after the reviews...maybe not!

i looked at the envoy website and it is only 2 wheel drive?

the freelander is too low...we can't have a low to the ground car, b/c we have to drive it over sand...and really bad roads...

I think the Jeep is winning out
