Do you need a permit to park there?

If so, how do you get one?

No you don't need one. You just try and find a spot there or there is parking garage that you can pay for. I don't know how much it is though.

My DH used to leave out of Ronkonkoma and he said you need a pass to park in the garage, but you can park anywhere in the parking lot for like $2.00

Re: Does anyone take the LIRR from Ronkonkoma?

How hard is it to find a spot in the lot in the morning?
Dh will probably be taking the 7:22 express. We're new at this city thing

I take the 7:04 train, I get to the station around 6:50 and there are spots. You may have to walk a bit but at least there is a spot!!

Thanks girls

Dh doubted me when I told him I could get an answer to this in a few minutes. He has yet to learn the power of LIW

Re: Does anyone take the LIRR from Ronkonkoma?

I do the same as Lisa Rose and I find a spot, good walk in the morning, I need the exercise anyway. Be careful to only park in the marked stalls (some people don't do it but don't fall into the trap I did), I got a $75 parking ticket from the town of Islip!!!! Needless to say, I ONLY park in the stalls now!!

Lisa,

Tell Scott welcome to H E L L ..lmao I am on the 7:22 train . The parking lot at the station is free but all the prime spots are taken. Tell him to allow some time to walk thru the lots to get to the platform.

We live in Patchogue.

According to the schedule, its better for him to drive to Ronkonkoma to take the train. To get in at the same time from Patchogue he would have to take the 6:40

Re: Does anyone take the LIRR from Ronkonkoma?

wow - 6 AM and 7 AM trains?! I'll never again complain about my commute (stace!) or time I have to get up again!

My commute recently changing from 15 mins to 30 mins, and I leave my house at 8 AM.

I consider myself very lucky though. (my laziness is the reason we're looking for houses in Nassau! I couldn't handle the long commute!)

tell DH 'welcome to the world of pure commuter hell', although the parking is free in the lot. they have recently added some new areas so there are a lot more spots. buy his ticket before getting on the train, they upped the on-train price by like $3.00 or so.
