Does anyone use a personal trainer?

Does anyone use a personal trainer?

I had my last physical therapy session today and now am on my own!!! I really want to continue working out, but am not good at self-motivation. The physical therapist I worked with suggested that I try a personal trainer. They have one at the physical therapy office who is also a PT assistant so she would understand some of the limitations that I still have.

I was wondering if anyone uses a personal trainer and if so what the cost is? All info would be helpful as I am supposed to be speaking to her on Thursday and I would like to have some info to compare with.

You can FM me info if you aren't comfortable posting here.

Thanks

I used one for a few years...HE's Amazing. His name is Joe DeFontes and he trains at PowerHouse GYm in Miller Place.

Just look up the number for the gym and ask to set up a session with Joe..he's great!!!! He got me down to a size 2!!!!!!!!! And not a bony size 2 but a tight 2!

Re: Does anyone use a personal trainer?

their rates can vary. I am a personal trainer and here are my rates to give you an idea:

$35 1-30-min
$45 1-45-min
$50 1-60-min session

Packages:
5 sessions
$150 30-min ($30/session)
$200 45-min (40/session)
$235 60-min sessions ($47/session)

10 sessions:
$280 30-min ($28/session)
$380 45-min (38/session)
$450 60-min sessions ($45/session)

I do buddy sessions too, so that is something to consider, if you have a you 2 can split the price..ask yout trainer if they do that.

I hope this helps. Also ask for qualifications. do they have their degree (mine is called exercise science,,,it as is called keinisiologySP?, exercise physiology too.) and if they are certified my a nationally recognized organization, like ACE, ACSM, NSCA, etc.

Good luck!!!!

as for price, it depends who you get and how good/experienced they are

I'll buddy.

i am still in PT for my knee but they advise I continue and I sorta like to work out. I just hate doing it alone and im so not motivated.

My thunder thighs could definately afford to lose a few inches.
