Does anyone want to learn viennese waltz?

I am looking into a possibility of having semi-private lessons for FH and I with another couple.

We would like to keep the dance the same (i.e. viennese waltz), but songs can change...

Anyone interested? We're looking into this studio
http://www.shall-we-dance.com/, but open to other options so long that the lessons are held either Manhattan or Brooklyn.

Thank you
Alina

Alina

A vienese waltz is a very difficult waltz. Although it is beautiful. It is also quite fast
JMO - but good luck

Are you trying to discourage me We've found a song that we like a lot, and there is still 4 months till our wedding! We'll shoot for our best

Not at all Alina, I am sorry if it seemed that way. but a regular waltz might be easier to grasp, and look more polished

Whats the song?

Dubliner, I was just joking, sorry!!!

The song I found by accident, here is the linkViennese Waltz

The song is from a famous 1970 Russian Movie under a name 'My tender and kind animal' if you translate it directly. The clip on the site is the slower part of the song, and it really picks up about 3 times throughout, having these 3 faster 'musical peaks'.
Most Russians (i.e. majority of our guests) would recognize and enjoy this song. Otherwise, our selection would have been 'Where do I begin' from the 'Love Story' movie, but I thought that it would be more difficult to choreograph, and now we think its not as pretty as the waltz.
We've been told that its difficult, but at the same time, isn't it just faster than regular waltz? And if we have to learn one, we may as well pick the one we like?

Alina,

My friends used this song for their first dance 2 years ago and they looked fine even though they both have 2 left feet and hate dancing! it's just the matter of practice! (and lots of it!) It is difficult though because it's faster then the regular waltz! But hey, if my man learned to foxtrot, you guys will do just fine! Good luck! It's a very beautifull song!
