Does anyone wish they could rank-order their registry?

Does anyone wish they could rank-order their registry?

I registered for a bunch of crap i didn't really want/need since the mom's invited everyone they had ever known to the bridal shower... and everyone is buying the crap i don't really want.

Like I have TV trays and a quesadilla maker - but no plates!

So, if anyone comes to visit, get ready to have macaroni and cheese, served on a tv tray - and to drink out of wine glasses (no regular glasses yet either)

I have a question, if you did not want or need the 'crap' then why did you register for it in the first place? My registry only has stuff on it that I want/need. I did not include a lot of traditional stuff because I could not find anything that I loved for that type of item, i.e. towels, linens, bedding. I will get that stuff as I see it.

Everything I registered for I want/need...however, there is some stuff I need or want more than others.
For example, we registered for a fondue set....I want the fondue set but would rather get the things we need first.

ah that makes sense. Yes, I guess in priority we already received our sterling and our dyson. I would love the formal place settings . We received the every day dishes and flatware but not as many formal formal dishes and no glassware. Oh, I would love to get the luggage, but I see what you mean. Honestly though, I love everything we have on our registry and am happy that people are getting us stuff from it rather than some of the other things we received. Like who really needs towels that someone sewed weird chicken applications on??? Yes, we got those, and no they cannot be returned. They make me lol though.

Too funny! FH and I kept that in mind the entire time when doing our registry....hehehehe...

oh i would love to be able to do that.

its not that i dont like stuff i registered for.. its just that we registered for a set of dishes at crate and barrel that we absolutely love.. no one has bought any yet.. but they bought all the go with its... like platters, creamers, serving bowls.

dont' people realize that i can't use them if i dont have the dishes? by all means i appreciate it.. but look at the registry and buy the set of dishes! they're cheaper!

ok done ranting.. sorry

Well it's stuff that i kinda liked, but only put on it because the mom's invited so many people to the shower, that I didn't have enough on my original registry.

And now people are buying the novelty type things (Quesadilla Maker) that I don't really need, over the things that we could really use (i.e. dishes).

It's just frustrating because i added all these 'i kinda like them' items after being yelled at by my bridesmaids, and I'm not getting the stuff that we really do need.

I totally agree! I am so worried that I won't get my pots and pans but I'll get all my place settings or something else. Not that I don't want my place settings, but we don't have a house yet to display them in a china cabinet, and I very well can't host a dinner party without having pots to cook the food.

I totally understand. I really need the pots and pans and all the baking sheets but all we've been getting is serving stuff. Not that I don't need that, but I would prefer the pans first. I can't stand the ones I have. If I have to make teflon mashed potatoes one more time I think FH will scream.

OMG me too. I was told to put stuff on there from various price ranges. I planned all along to return the BB&B (liitle stuff) get the money and buy a few expensive things we need. I have 6 whisks!!!

Honestly, all I really want is my crystal ($25. a glass) and not one person has gone to Fortunoff... We don't need everyday dishes, china and all of the gadgets. Just crystal and entertaining pieces as holidays will always be at our house.

LOL!!!!!!!! what a great idea!

they should segment the registry into

a. the stuff the bride and groom REALLY need

b. the stuff they would love to have

c. stupid stuff that the groom registered for

I don't know about you gals, but I have no use for an emergency AM/FM radio/light combo or a poker and blackjack table topper.

ETA: I've already deleted a $100 wine refrigerator that FH registered for. we don't even DRINK! lol

FH doesn't realize that these unnecessary gifts are taking away from stuff we can really use.
