Does anyone work total opposite schedules then fh/fw

If so, when do you find time to tend to one another, or just have fun?

It is very hard for me and fh to do things, when one is up, the other one is sleeping. Somtimes it is horrible. I am afraid, that will take a negative toll on our relationship.

My FH and I have the same schedule. I work all day, he works all night. The only time we see each other is on the weekend nights. On the weekends he works during the day most of the time. It is really hard sometimes, but I feel your pain.

You mean its not just moi!!! Phew, I thought we were alone.. I work 7am-2pm and he works 10am-6pm (allegedly, seems more like 7pm)

I see him for an hour each evening b4 i go sleepy and then on the weekends!

Same here. He works days and I work nights. He tries to stay up for me when I came home late at night and we spend a little time together before bed. Then we have Sundays together. ( I also work Sat nights!)

Oh thank god, FH is in the NYPD academy and he finishes up in 3 wks after that there is no more weekends together! I work M-F 9-5 he will work from afternoon til after midnite. Very worried about missing him, doing it all myself, showing up alone to things all the time, that kinda stuff. But I guess I need to get used to it!

FH is a US Marine and currently in NC. We see each other once a month if we are lucky but usually more like every three.. :(( he leaves for Iraq soon so then we will be only writing letters and maybe getting occasional phone calls. Talk about oppostie schedules :((

I work 8:30-3pm. fh works 3:30-midnight or half the time till even later. We basically just see each other on weekends.

my fi and i have opposite schedules!!! i work 8:30- 4:30 and he is a servier so he mostly works the evenings b/c there is more money and what sucks even more is that he really makes the best money on the weekends so we really never get to see one another. it's hard, but i think it creates the feeling of 'the heart growing fonder' you really start to miss the other person where is you saw them 24-7 you would almost never appreciate the time you have! best of luck- and i know exactly what you are feeling!

My FH and I work the same hours however My MOH and her DH dont! THey have been marreid for one year and its becoming an issue! He is an NYPD and his hours were recently changed. She is a teacher who works basically 8-4 he leaves for work at 3 and gets home at 2am!

He recently went to his supervisor to put in for a change becuase as he put it 'I am happily married and I would like to stay that way.'
She says its becoming a big issue becuase they have 1 day off together and it seems whenever tehy are together, they are doing family stuff or working on teh remodeling of their home!

I can totally relate... my FH is NYPD also and his scheule changes weekly.. He also has overtime that is pretty much mandatory every weekend. It wasn't such a big issue while I was still in school ( i did appreciate the xtra time to study) but, now it's getting really hard on me. It doesn't seem to affect him as much as it does me ! I thought I ws used to it but now I have a real job and working 9-5 while he is gone all day or night is even harder... Hopefully it all works itself out and hopefully it's REAL soon!!!

fh works for lirr and does not have a set schedule yet. he mostly works in the morning, ie. 12 am until 9 or 10am. supposedly, he will start working the same time every day, but that could change at any given time. it gets to me every now and then, but i just enjoy the time i get to see him b4 his schedule gets worse.

DH's schedules go from 8-4, 4-12 and midnight-8...Though I often complain, the time we wind up spending together is always quality time and you learn to appreciate that time more than you would if he were always available. Also I have friends who have to deal with the same situation and we spend alot of time together doing things which makes the nights fly by.

Not anymore but last fall I left for work at 5:30am, got home at noon, and literally only had enough time to kiss him goodbye and he was off to work until midnight or later. It was AWFUL!!! I'd never ever do that again!

For 6 years we were on different schedules. He worked nights and I worked days. We made it through on lots on phonecalls while one of us was either on the way into work or on the way home. We would be together on the weekend and on Saturdays we made sure we would be home early because he would hit the sack around 7pm. This past year he has been on days and it has been fantastic. Hang in there!!!!

MY FIANCE AND I WORK COMPLETE OPPOSITE I WORK DAYS HE WORKS NIGHTS. WE HAVE EACH OTHER ON THE WEEKENDS, MY PARENTS HAD THAT SAME SCHEDULE FOR 20 YRS. MY MOM SAYS IT SUX BUT SHE SAYS IT CAN BE GOOD SOMETIMES. YOU ARE MORE EXCITED TO SPEND TIME TOGETHER, IT MEANS MORE!!! IT STILL SUX IN MY OPINION!!
