DH is a field tech and all we talk about what will happen when their contract expires in August. Anyone else in this situation?

My ex is a project manager in Verizon. Last time we spoke he said that the guys will strike until the contract meets the qualifiactions the shop stewards want!

My cousin works as a field tech also, he got laid off when they had the big layoff, now he tells me that they are going back to work, only to go out on strick in a week or two!!! He said that he was told that them going out on strike they will benefit in the long run with a new better contract!! Too confusing for me!! LOL

DH says the strike will be long this time. Verizon wants to take away a lot of their benefits.

Yes! My FI is a field technician too!! He's trying to reassure me that everything is going to be fine, but I'm worried about adding this wedding financial stress on him!!

Yes, I am scarded silly. But after 6 weeks, teh unemployment will start. I am tryign to convince him to marry me now beacsuye according to Brian's aunt who is a manager, tehy might stop their benefits on teh first day of teh strike. And tehy are palnning on rehiring all of teh guys back from teh layoffs on teh 30th.

If this strike goes on more than a couple of weeks we will be set back finacially. We have been trying to live off my salary but we are cutting it close. He's been working mad OT and we are not touching any of that $.

Where doers you FH work? Is he a field tech? I think they get their picket assignemnts this week.

My DH is a manager at Verizon. He expects the strike to last a few months. I am on the other end of the spectrum since he will be working 12hrs day/ 7 days a wk. He bought his boots last night and is in pole climbing school today refreshing his skills. He is ready for the strike.

My BIL is a CPA at Verizon and he also has to go to pole school. He got his strike assignemnet last week. Can you believe that? My brother in law is going to be doing my husband's job while he is on strike and will be working out of the same garage that my husband works at. Right now they aren't really talking to each other b/c they just get into heated argumentsabout the strike.

Brian was a carrier and shop steward in LIC and then he was moved ti Pay Phone repair in College Point. Then he was moved Bed Stuy as a field tech and that's were he is now. He is miserable.
He has an aunt that's a manager in 58th Street. She is preparing herself for all her OT.

I know what your FH is going through. Before our wedding DH was transferred to Corona, then to the Bronx, then to Brooklyn and about 2 months ago he went back to his garage in College Point. DH was miserable when he got transferred around. Plus he missed out on a lot of OT in the beginning of the year b/c hisd CP garage was short staffed. He has been working everyday for the past month. 12 hour days.
