I am getting married at Coindre Hall (pics in my album). There are different rooms, for example a dining room, ballroom, parlor, etc. Just wondering if anyone else has a set up like this and how you are going to keep things flowing. Thanks.

Re: Does anyone's venue have different rooms?
Huntington Harbor has the CH upstairs with a balcony and the dining downstairs which can be used also for the ceremony.

No, not our RH. Our wedding will be held outdoors. If it rains it will be held inside.

We do! Our wedding is at an inn, and we're taking over the whole inn for the weekend. During cocktail hour, guests will be outside in the backyard under a tent, or they can wander around one of the two parlors and sit on couches and chat, if they don't want to be outside. Then, for the reception, they'll be in the dining room and we're hoping that it's fun enough in there that everyone will stay put!

Yay! I was beginning to feel nervous. I don't know why but I am having anxiety over this lately.

Yes we had a bunch of rooms.....I did not run into any problems with this though. The people there will keep things rolling in the right direction!!!

We have like 7 rooms in our place, but it should not be a problem. Most halls have a place at front where they list all of the rooms and the events being hosted in each. there is usually someone there to guide guests in the rightdirections, especially for a wedding-BIG bucks and they dont want to damage their reps.
We are also the only wedding going on though there will be other parties.
You will be fine.

Re: Does anyone's venue have different rooms?
Where I am getting married there are separate rooms for my guests. It's not a traditional RH. I am the only wedding there and the rooms are used for different reasons. There is one for cocktails, one for dinner, one for dancing, one for sitting, etc. Sorry to be so confusing.

Re: Does anyone's venue have different rooms?
hi. i got married at coindre hall in november (see my post on 'brides review' board). the flow actually worked out really well. as guests arrived they came into foyer and were directed to coat check (to left of foyer). they then went to crystal room (the yellow room with wood floor) for ceremony. after ceremony, my dh and i stood in foyer for a mini receiving line. the bar was set up on other side of foyer (so if you walked in front door, bar was set up on your left). then we had the food tables set up in the room behind the foyer fireplace (the cloister). so, people went from receiving line to bar or food. while people were filing out of crystal room, it was being turned over for cocktail hour/reception.
ok, after cocktail hour, people were asked to go into crystal room. we were announced into this room and did all our dances. there were a couple of tables that were left set up from cocktail hour so people could sit or stand. after our danced everyone was asked to go to dining room. toasts were done and then we had dinner. we had buffet - which was set up in red room - so people went there to get their food. after diner, people were asked to join us in crystal room for dancing.
our caterer forgot our cake cutting ceremony, but if he hadn't, that would have taken place in the crystal room.
the flow worked out really well for us. i think we had a lot more people on the dance floor b/c it wasn't in the dining area you didn't feel like dance floor was center of attention so i think people felt more comfortable dancing. and our guests like that there were multiple rooms they could be in.
one word of warning - we thought we were all set-up with sound system b/c dj had wireless equipment. unfortunately, the walls at coindre hall do not allow for transmission. the only time it was an issue was once the dancing started - you could hear the music throughout the house, but you could only hear the dj clearly if you were in the crystal room.
please feel free to fm me with any questions!!!

Thanks so much for all the great advice. What do you think about having the dj put speakers in the dining room?

Re: Does anyone's venue have different rooms?
if he can do it, definitely! just make sure they aren't wireless. actually, if i think about it, the sound was good during dinner/toasts when our dj just turned the speakers into the dining room. it might be too much if the speakers are actually IN the dining room. so maybe your dj could put speakers facing the dance room and speakers facing the dining room.
