Yea that would kind of upset me. That happened to a girl at work i'm friendly with. She got engaged after me and she's planning for next summer. In her words, it's do-able for her. And it was like she was trying to make me feel bad about waiting til 2010. But don't pay attention to those comments from people. I try to not let them get to me.

yes its upsetting because it seems unfair that they get to have their wedding day already and we have to keep waiting

actually im going through this now-my friend started dating this guy and after dating 8 months they got engaged ( hes a marine and theyve really only seen each other for like 5 of those 8) and theyre getting married before us. Its sad b/c we all think its a bad idea but of course we're not saying anything. Theyll be together for about 1 1/2 years when they tie the knot...me and fh will be together 5 1/2 years when we get married.

It doesn't really bother me, although I don't know anyone yet that got engaged after me that's getting married before me. I actually got engaged about 6 months after one of my friends and I'm getting married the month before she is. She hasn't said anything to me about being upset that I'm going to be married first. I hope she's not mad about it.

i wouldnt care as long as it wasn't anywhere near my wedding lol then i'd be kinda mad. i mean if we could get married sooner, we would, but financially it is not possible.

hmm, i can't say that it does...one of our groomsmen got engaged a couple of weeks after we did and he's having his wedding in fall 09 i believe.. and we're trying for spring 2010...i was aware of the fact that he was going to propose and i'm happy we're all getting married period more so than when

Not at all. We waited until 2010 because that's what works for US. If my other friends can get married in 2009 that's excellent for them!!

I have been with fh for 5 1/2 years - he JUST proposed in August!! My friend was with her boyfriend for I think 6 months and he just proposed 1 week ago.... They are getting married 6 months before me!
I cannot be more happier for her! And also I get to help her with ideas and places - because I checked out every hall under the sun on Long Island!!!!

i'm going through this at work too, i got engaged a year ago and she just got engaged, so now people at work keep making comments on how she is getting married before me and stuff

Happened to me already!
I got engaged May 3rd 2008 my brother- 3 weeks after me fh cousin- 3 days after me fh other cousin- 1 month after me!
ALL ARE GETTING MARRIED B4 US! BUT THAT'S OK....I RATHER BE LAST....FH AND I FEEL LIKE IF WE REALLY WANT TO OUTDO ALL THE WEDDINGS PUT TOGETHER WE HAVE THAT POWER B/C WE WILL HAVE BEEN TO ALL THE WEDDINGS!

I wouldn't be upset at all. I have no control over what other people want to do so I wouldn't let it upset me. Besides that, i know my wedding would be totally different. As long as they're not replicating all of my ideas intentionally, I wouldn't be upset. If anything I would be excited for them and use it as a learning experience for myself to take notes.

Yes it really does. It usted to upset me when people who had been together for a really short time got engaged before me.

I agree. I think I might be a little upset intially, but then realize I picked 2010 as my date because thats what i wanted.
