We went to a private travel agency (my friends husbands' family owns it) and they gave us a quote.
do you think it is a good idea to have Liberty Travel price out a similar Honeymoon package in Hawaii?
I'm under the impression that they charge a lot more.

They do charge a lot and are not that good with service...I found my TA through the recommendation of girls on theknot and find that e-based TA charge a lot less because they have less overhead to pay. Highly recommend Hayley from www.beaachbumvacation.com.

we did our whole HM trip to Hawaii through Liberty travel in Commack and they were great. I will definately use them again when we go back...

I went to liberty Travel along with 2 other travel agencies and Liberty Travel was much cheaper. Since I am going to Aruba first then i have to fly to Miami to go on a cruise and Liberty Travel was the only agency that was able to give me a bulk airfare price. They also saved me money on the transfers. Good luck. I say give them a try and get a quote.

no one can charge you MORE just because it's a honeymoon. The options you choose might make it cost more. Different agencies MIGHT get different prices, so that is where you'll find your differences in price.
When we priced, the price varied several hundred dollars between 3 agencies for the same HM trip

We priced out a bunch of travel agents for our Hawaii honeymoon, and found that AAA was cheaper than all the others. We ended up adding 2 extra days and saving OVER $2,000 from the quotes the other travel agents gave us!

We went to a few different travel agents - on the web, 2 different liberty travel travel agents, and some local people. The liberty Travel in Manhattan had the best package. I asked for the same rooms, flight times, flight class, and days of travel as well as add ons like car, meals, inter island flights and day trips. The Manhattan based liberty travel even beat out the web deals that I found, so we booked with them. (Funny thing is the other liberty travel agent we went to had the highest rate). So I think it depends upon which one you go to and who you get. We used the one on 298 Madison. Lisa

We found it much cheaper. We went to Liberty first then two others and Liberty was by far cheaper.

we used liberty travel and had a great deal - chepaer than anywhere else. we also used them again twcie since our wedding after i couldn't fnd anywhere else cheaper....it may depend upon where you are going too, but everyone i know has always used them and had a great time!
