DOES SOMEONE KNOWS...

I want to get married in a church. But all the church that have called have informed me that their officiant/pastor or priest must marry us. I want to bring my own pastor to marry me. My church is in the bronx and I have booked jericho terrace.

Can anyone help me?

want they might let you do is have your priest and one of theirs' perform the ceremony. i don't really know of any churches that allow you to just bring your priest.

Maybe you should talk to them in person. I know my church asked us if we had our own priest that would marry us because that happens often.

oh yeah? where did you have your ceremony?

I'm getting married at my church, but with my fiance's priest from another parish.. my church calls it a 'delegated priest'. My church is in Suffolk though...

I would ask your church again.. I thought most churches allowed this.. Perhaps if you explained the same way I did?.. Which was, that I've always wanted to get married in their church, but that my fiance's family has a special relationship with their own priest and hoped he could perform the ceremony..

I tried to get married in a church by my rh, but all the churches asked if I was a member and wouldn't marry us. So unless you do it at the rh, it might be hard. Unless you found a church already, then you're lucky.

thank you sassygirl. but that's the samething that we have been hearing. We are christian to the seventh day adventist church. And we basically want to be allowed to bring the pastor that would marriy use.

Do you want to get married in the same type of church that you belong to just one on LI or are you going to Cathloic Churches and asking to bring in your own pastor?

A Catholic Church won't let you bring in a pastor of another demonation to marry you.

A church of the same religion may let you.

Yeah i know. i havent asked anyone from a catholic church. Because i know that's the rule. But other christian churches.
