Does anyone know if you have to feed the band at your wedding? If so, do you have to pay the price you pay for the guests per head?

Yes they eat.... but they eat at a discount price...

You dont have to feed them but you should. They are usually 1/2 price but check with your hall.

speak with your hall about the price that you will be charged for the 'extra' people.... dj's, photographer, videographer, band, etc....

You should definetly feed them. But the hall will give you a discount on their plates.

I think you should definately feed them, my catering hall offers 1/2 price - yours should be discounted as well

YES OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO FEED THEM BUT I THINK THEY ARE HALF THE PRICE .
THEY CANT STARVE ALL NIGHT-LOL

You should feed all your vendors, most halls give the discount.

Thanks for all the feedback. Its just a bit shocking with a 9 piece band and 2 photographers and a videographer if the club asks for half I have to figure almost another $900. OY VEY more money

Yes they eat, so do the photographer/s and videographer/s. If it's an in-house band (photographer/videographer), normally the hall doesn't charge you, if they aren't in-house or hall-referred, most halls charge 1/2 the cost they are charging for guests.

You should feed the band the photographer,videographer and any assistants that they bring. The vendor price for meals should be included in your contract so, check it carefully. we paid $35 for each person. The band's contract should also include a continuous music clause so there's no lapse of music!

I will feed all my vendors ,i feel its the right thing to do.You will probably get a discounted rate for them.

I am very torn as to what to do for this as well. We have a six piece band 2 photographers and a video & assistant. Thats 10 people and my place charges $70 for each PLUS tax Plus Tip, thats $900!! I think thats crazy, we are paying & tipping the band etc.... Where does it end?

As was mentioned in earlier posts, speak with your reception hall as far as pricing for vendors. You definitely want them fed, otherwise, they may be taking their break off premises

Definitely feed the band. If they're not house vendors, it's usually half-priced..
