My mom saw a dress and tried it on and LOVED it!! Problem is that the store will not tell her the designer, so she feels pressured into ordering it now. I am not quite sure what my colors will be (I want red, but who knows if I will find the right dress with the red color). Does it matter what she wears?

This is just my personal opinion, I don't think the bridal party should be in the same color as the MOB. You should go back to the store you found the dress and try to look if there is any tags with the designer's name.

No they do not have to match. My BM's are wearing silver and my MOH is wearing Navy blue with silver beading. As long as the colors are not totally contrasting.

she wants a coffee-ish color dress. not sure how it would look with fire engine red, but if thats what she wants and feels comfortable with then i guess that is what i will deal with

They definitely don't have to match, I don't ever remember going to or seeing pics of a wedding where the Mom's matched.

Yeah, as long as your mom feels good in the dress, she'll look great. A happy mother in a color you don't love is better than a mother who does not love her dress.

Do you think there will be many pictures with both your Mom and the bridal party for you to be concerned? Unless she will take family shots with a sister or SIL who will be wearing a BM's dress, I really don't think it will matter.

Actually the MOB and MOG are not supposed to be in the same color family as your girls dresses... nor the same color as each other! Quite frankly, I didnt mind, but my mother couldnt be against proper ettiquitte. (Sp???) O well... Good Luck!
