I am definately not one to push my son off on other people, but a few days ago my mom offered to have him sleep over tonight and I couldn't have jumped at the chance any quicker. The thought of having the whole night to myself (DH is working late) just sounded SOOO appealing. Now I miss him and I feel guilty

I don't think that there is anything wrong with it. If you did it constantly that would be one thing but you know what, you are pregnant, you are taking care of Scotty you need a day or night to yourself to take care of Stacy so that you can be a refreshed Mommy for the both of them!
What I would like someone to tell me is how I can pass DH off to someone for the night

Don't feel guilty. Mom's need a day off too and especially in your condition, you should take this opportunity to rest up (or if you're not sleepy/tired) do something nice for yourself like head to a movie/rent one, etc. Parent's guilt is the WORST but think of how much fun he's having at Grandma's - having a special sleepover at her house. It'll give them some good bonding time too.

I used to LOVE sleepovers at Grandma's house. That's where I learned how to bake, and got to play up in the attic and go through all her old lace and stuff.
It definately does not make you a bad mother. It's giving them time to bond together and build special memories and it gives you a chance to rejuvinate yourself so you're not stressed. All in all, everyone benefits here!

I'm just an idiot I guess. There are times where I just WISH that I had a night to myself and now that I have it, I spend it feeling guilty.

You are probably one of the best mothers I have known, and being a teacher, I know a lot of moms. You have an amazing son, so I can understand missing him, but imagine if I had to work my at my job 24 hours a day and always be on call, I'd want a night to myself, too, wouldn't I? Think of it this way, you are giving Scotty the opportunity to spend more time with his grandmother. What kid doesn't love that?

If you want you can take Emma for the night and I will take all the guilt for both of us I will feel even guiltier when I wake up on my own in the AM and sleep late
Dont worry, you deserve a break. ENJOY IT!!

Don't feel bad OR guilty! Everyone needs some time to themselves! He probably misses you too but at least you can do something for yourself tonight

It does NOT make you a bad mother at all! Enjoy!!! Jeez - my son is 2 weeks old and I would happily hand him off to my Mom for a night...But I know what you mean about feeling guilty - I felt guilty when my Mom did one of his midnight feedings.
