My sister actually told me to register for holiday things. Why not? You have to think that people are going to get you whatever is on your registry and it is things you need for your home, and I think decorations definately fall into that category. I say go for it.... I am.

If you want to, you should. Worst thing that could happen is that some things may be discontinued before people have a chance to buy them.

sure why not? If it were in my price range - I would be happy to buy what ever the bride and groom registered for.
fh and I will be living together for 2 1/2 years by the time the wedding roles around. We do not need a lot of the 'typical' registry items. We want to register for his and hers bikes!

I actually bought a friend of mine her Lenox Tartan holiday china tea set... in JUNE LOL
the only problem with that is it had to be ordered and that cost extra in shipping, but the holidays are approaching, so people may opt to get things then, when they are available (and probably on SALE! )

i don't think it's stupid, but you can only register for holiday stuff that is out in the store and that all depends on what month your having you shower.
