does your heart ever race?
at night my heart seems to race and it is hard for me to catch my breath. I am not exercising prior to bed at all. It just beats sooo quickly when I lay down. anyone else?

Yes, I've had that. I see a cardiologist because I have microvalve prolapse...but the heart racing is supposed to be 'normal' for preggos. I would call the doctor though.....always let the doc know what's going on.....
Your blood volume increases by 40 or 45% during pregnancy and your heart rate goes up as well due to transporting oxygen & nutrients to your baby. I use to get some noticeable changes at times and it was normal but definitely mention it to the doctor.
I've had that happen (and I'm not pregnant) - only for a few seconds at a time though.
When you lay down your blood volume is redistributing and more can get back to the heart because everything is at the same level - maybe that is causing it? Definetely mention it to the doctor, though. Are you particularly anxious at night? Worried that you aren't going to be able to sleep or worried about worrying all night? (I know that happens to me a lot). That could definetely make the little ticker race!
I did when I was pregant!! I wore a heart monitor for a day. They said everything was fine! I think it's normal.
Thanks girls. I will mention it to the midwife.
