some like to keep the theme. But personally dont think you MUST. The invites i originally wanted were celadon green, i saw them and just fell in love and said screw sticking to the color scheme for invites but unfortunately i wouldnt have gotten them in time, Funny enough happened to me anyways and even funnier is that the original choice i would've had almost 2 weeks ago went with the company who guaranteed i'd have it by mid march, the celadon invites wouldve been the week after. So stupid lol

go for it, i dont think your guests are going to walk into your rh, see your color scheme and think OH wait it doesn't match her invites.

I say colors or theme.....mine reflects my theme

ours doesn't. well, we are doing blue, white/ivory, and then coral accents for flowers. our invites are ivory.

everything we chose has been simple & elegant (Ex: my dress) and our invites reflect that. also, i am using the invite fonts on programs, place cards, menus, etc so they match in that respect.

I don't think they have to be same colour but they need to tie in with an aspect of your wedding ie. theme

they do not have to be but I am going with my colors as they also fit into theme- I just personally like uniformity

i know a lot of brides go for really traditional invites, which are often just white or ivory w/ black print. in that sense, they don't always match the colors. besides that, anything goes nowadays, so get what you want and don't worry about the norm.

It doesn't have to, I'm matching it but nobody is going to come to your wedding and say oh my gosh, these colors dont match the invites. I have honestly never noticed if the invites ended up matching the wedding colors

i really don't think they have to match.. my invites will likely go along with my theme to set the tone for the wedding... but no one will even notice or remember them when they get there!

i say do what makes you happy!!! its not like people are going to see your white/ pink invites and be disappointed when they come to your black/ coral wedding!!

i'm soo not one to follow traditions.... just do what i feel like! i'm keeping my colors/ theme throughout every aspect, but that's just me.

I wanted mine to have some pink in them, but any invitation i've seen so far with pink looks like a baby girls baptism or sweet sixteen invitation. I think I might just stick with Ivory

i dont think people will notice/remem what color the invite was unless it was something crazy that really stuck out in their minds but even then, i dont think people would compare the invite to the reception the day of....

i think people are more likely to remember a theme than a color imo... for ex, i plan on doin a very beachy one that isnt your typical invite so im sure people would remember if that didnt jive with the decoration of the reception

Our colors are black and white... and I think we're doing our invitations the same colors. I just prefer it that way. It's totally your call though.

I agree there aren't any wedding invitations that i remember at all. I just think people don't remember them so i wouldn't go crazy over invitations.

i dont think you have to have the same colors, some guests wont even remember what colors your invites were by the wedding and if they even go together.....

I dont think they have to. I was thinking about going with plain invitations because the ones the ones that are black and white are expensive. I have always thrown away the invitations from weddings.

I don't think it matters, do what you want. Personally I want my invites to match so it sets the tone of the wedding.
