We have a very small family here, so our guest will mostly be our friends... Do you guys think it's ok if my dog ( which is like my baby, and I deff want him to be at my ceremony) is gonna carry our rings? And as a flower girl, do you guys think it's ok if we get one of our friend's daughter?

Re: Dog as a ring boy????
If FH and I had an outdoor ceremony I thought about having his dog do it, but we're getting married in a church. He is a Boston Terrier so he already looks like he has a tux on.

Re: Dog as a ring boy????
I also want my dog to be the ring bearer but I don't know if it is feasible. I have a one year old chi who is not great around people he doesnt know and I am afraid might get distractred walking down the isle, or worse, try to eat the rings. I am sure your dog is more behaved than mine though so I say go for it. You can tie a little pillow to his back and get him/her a little bowtie or dress. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could incorporate my dog into the ceremony in a less risky way.

Re: Dog as a ring boy????
i want my dog to be involved in my wedding too but i dont think the church will let him in (he's only a 8 pound yorkie who is super nice. But wimpy lol).
I think it's DEF ok to have ur dog involved as long as he is well trained and won't be overwhelmed with everything going on.
and yes your friends daughter is fine as a flower girl. Perhaps you can get a leash that matches the colors of your weddings and she can walk the dog down the aisle

OK I don't mean to be the Debbie Downer but I'm not crazy about having pets involved in a formal event. If I wanted my dog involved I would take pictures before or after the ceremony.
JMO and I'm not a animal hater!!

I would love to have my dog in my wedding but FH thinks I'm crazy...
So no I do not think you're crazy to have your dog as the RB! As long as it's not huge and wouldn't scare people.. haha

Re: Dog as a ring boy????
Thank you so much for all of your advices girls!!! Actually I found a website, they sell these ring pillows for the dogs. I just wanted to have him at my ceremony, and then have a dogsitter take him home... I just feel he's a apart of our family, and I deff want him to be involved. We are having a ceremony outdoors, so it makes it easier to have him there.... And yes that was deff my idea to dress him up in a tuxedo and carry the rings hehe. He's very well behaved, a little maltese puppy :)

i think its a very cute idea...
when i was booking my photographer, she actually had pictures of a dog being a ring bearer...it was adorable.
my dog; however, is too hyper and would jump and lick everyone.

i think its cute, but you have to make sure you will be allowed to have the dog there. you also need to consider what you will do with the dog after the ceremony...he probably can't just hang around the rh so you'd have to put him somewhere

Well yeah, I am planning to get him a dog sitter, so right after the ceremony the dogsitter can take him home.... I just noticed you are having your wedding at woodlands, its also on my list. How is that place? We are going to see it this Sunday....

Re: Dog as a ring boy????
I totally want our dogs involved. However, since we are getting married at the Watermill, this will not be possible. One of our dogs (rigel the GSD) is very trained, CGC and TDI as well as general obedience. Our other dog (Circuit a boxer) is not so trained. There is no way I would want to include one and not the other. Our plan as of now, is to take pics with them before the wedding, possibly our engagment sitting. We do want pics of them for our album. We're probably going to get them the doggie tuxedos.

i agree. yes we are obsessed with our animals but i think a line ahs to be drawn somewhere. i'm not a fan of people using dogs in weddings and their pictures and stuff...just a lil tacky in my opinion

Re: Dog as a ring boy????
i dont think i would personally do it, and i think it goes more with a non-church wedding, but if your dog is trained (lol mine would run around in circles) and your going to incorporate it in the ceremony somehow, then why not?

yeah I am doing the ceremony in the catering hall, so overthere it shouldn't be a problem :)
No offense but I think it's ridiculous to have pets involved in weddings. This is my personal opinion please don't be offended by it...

Well we haven't booked yet, but the ones we've been to they said no problem. We are planning to have our reception and ceremony in one place :)

I think thats a really cute idea! If we weren't getting married in a church my dog would SO be part of the ceremony!! He was part of the engagement so it just makes sense
