DOG BITE UPDATE ABOUT DOG *long, sorry*

As most of you already know, my dog bugged out and bit my nose the other day (see trial pics lol)...well, tomorrow I have an appointment at 10:30am with a really excellent dog trainer who came highly reccommended from one of my friends. I am freaking out a little bit because this guy does the whole 'tough love' thing and to be honest....this dog IS my baby. I know he bit me, but he's just so tiny i'm just torn about the whole thing. I work in the hospital where I had to go to get my stitches and everyone that has called to see how I'm doing has been asking me if i'm going to have the dog euthanized. I can't and I will not do that. He's a rescue dog, he was abused (well, locked in a cat cage for 12+ hours a day!) and has issues. I want to help him, not hurt him. I'm just so nervous to take him there tomorrow. Ugh my stomach is in knots. The rest of me just still can't even believe this happened. I really think this pup just has issues with space and territory and getting what he wants. Please pray that this trainer can help me and isn't going to take every last cent out of my already diminishing bank account.....will keep all updated

I cant believe they thought you would euthanize it so quick! I think its great that you are trying to do all you can to help this dog even after what he did. Like you said he was abused so its going to take time but Im sure with the training he's going to end up the sweetest little dog. Good luck and hope your nose feels better

I think you need Ceaser Milan! We brought our dog to training when she was a puppy. Tough love training or not, if you don't keep up with it, it's worthless. If it doesn't work out with this guy let me know, I have the # of a great woman. She brought a dog back to normal when it was just about to be put down.

Good Luck!!!!!!

Good Luck!!

and I completely know how you feel. my mom told me i had to get a trainer for my dog when i moved back home. she said she wasnt hvaing him not bathroom trained and he tends to bark everytime someone is eating something- she didnt want that. now she loves my dog but he is my baby as well.

and the trainer i had trained police dogs so she was a tough cookie. but in the end gunner loved her as well as did i. she worked her magic with him and he is awesome now. but the only thing is he doesnt like to go 'down' when i tell him. He'll stay and everything but sometimes i forgot to go overthings with him so he forgot some training lol

GOOD LUCK!! I ams ure it will be worth it

I just want to reinforce that you are doing the right thing! Many people are quick to put dogs down when they bite - but if the dog isn't trained, then that should definitly be the first thing you do!

Good Luck with everything!

Ok so I took the dog to a trainer today for an 'evaluation'. He said the dog is def. trainable, that he just has issues from being bounced around so much, and he hasn't had formal training. Only catch is this guy was really $$$$. He wanted $375 down and $40 per lesson!!! What part of IM PLANNING MY WEDDING did he not understand?? Well there is a girl at work who is friends with a doggy trainer so I called her and she seems much more practical. Just waiting for her email. Annnnnnnnnnd she will come to my house!!!! If anyone knows Caesar...send him over!!! This whole thing has been such a nightmare!!! I can't wait to get these stitches out!!!!!

Im sure the dog whisperer would be even more expensive than the guy she already saw. He has his own TV show~!!

If you don't like your trainer, FM me.. My Mother is a trainer and has her own business... Her clients call her the Dog Whisperer... She's amazing with dogs
