I am trying to keep my dog off my couch because it really smells, did anyone ever hear about putting tin foil on it, and when the dog goes to sit on it, he will stay off. Any other ideas? THX

We fold all of our cushions up when we are ot sitting on them so they cna't get up.
Kind of annoying but it works!

Someone told me to try the same thing with my kittens b/c it had worked really well for them. So one morning before work I covered the couch in aluminum foil and came home to find my floors covered in little bits of foil!!! It looked like it had snowed silver stuff in my house! My cats are such brats! Sorry, I know that does not answer your question. It worked for my friend though, so I would give it a try.

tin foil worked to keep my constantly shedding cat off the couch...but it looks a little odd when you walk into a room with a shiny silver couch

I've seen this thing, a mat, that you put on the couch and when the dog or cat jumps on it, it makes a beeping sound that scares them off the couch. Might be better than tin foil, though not cheaper I'm sure

I know it wouldn't work for my dogs. They'd eat it. LOL. My sister's MIL used balloons and it supposedly worked. Random. I think you just have to keep telling them to get off when you're home until they get the idea.
