Dog ringbearers??

Dog ringbearers??

SO I was wondering if anyone had included their dog in their wedding at a ringbearer or something. I know this is becoming more popular but I have been unable to find any information about this. I am planning on getting married at the reception site so I am not sure if they would even allow a dog in although I am planning on getting married outside if the weather is nice. So just wondering if anyone has looked into doing this or if you have done this do you have any tips/suggestions. Its just a thought we had at this point.

Thanks!

Mary

I wanted to soooooo badly and had it all planned out .. however, our Temple doesn't allow pets :(
I am going to have a picture of him at the wedding though.

Awww.... that stinks. I have read that if I can have the outdoor wedding she will be allowed but have to make arrangements to have her brought to my family's home or dropped off at a hotel room that allows pets where my family would be staying (or something like that).

I was watching 'Get married' or something like that on tv and they said that sometimes the dogs refuse to cooperate -- but i guess that's true for human flowergirls and ringbearers. You can't reason with a dog though.

You also have to think about people who have allergies -- dogs give me asthma and I would have to leave the ceremony if there's a dog there.

i want to, too but dogs are forbidden from the milleridge! hmph.

she makes a good point about ppl with allergies - a dog in addition to pollen and stuff would not be fun

if you did want to have a dog, you could practice the 'here' command until he's got it down pat in a distracting environment. In addition, you could tie a ribbon on him and have someone walk down the aisle with him, holding the ribbon as a leash.

Well it will only work if we can do it ourdoors. i dont know if allergies would affect someone if they were outised and like 40 feet from the dog in the wide open outdoors.

Also the dog would be on leash or something like and would be walked. Not allowed to run free b/c with all of the people dogs can get esily distracted and not listen etc.

My 13 year old cousin is walking our 2 dogs down the aisle --treats for them will be at the finish line! FH was soo happy when the Rabbi okay'ed it and we would probably not be getting married at OJC if they had said no!
Guests will be warned ahead of time in case of allergies, etc and after the ceremony they'll be staying in their own suite
