Dog Sitter

I did a quick search on this, but wanted to see if I could get some more options.

I have a 1 year old male Brittany, and I need to find a sitter for the night of my wedding. I don't want to leave him somewhere that crates, and my parents are uncomfortable with strangers going into their house. I like the idea of someone that brings dogs into their home, but would consider a kennel.

Does anyone know of anyone or any place either near the Babylon area or Farmingville area? I figure I can find a family member willing to drop him off somewhere between my parent's and the reception.

We live in NJ, so our vet is located there. I'm going to have the dog with me at my parents on LI from Wednesday night on. He's going to be with his breeder for two weeks while we're on our honey, so I don't want to board him for more time than he has to.

Okay wait - so where do you need a sitter for NY or NJ? If it's NJ - i have a great person for you...i used to work for her.

Either way - you want to be sure you have someone who is insured & bonded!!!!!

if i wasnt going on my honeymoon at that time, i would've totally watched your puppy for you. i was thinking of going into the business of dog sitter/dog walker. i have a 4 year old jack russell. they probably would've had a great time! you could always go to petsmart hotel in huntington. go in there and check the place out. i think theyre going to be taking my puppy for my honeymoon

Awww, well thank you for the thought! We were going to leave him with FH's parents, but they don't have a fenced in yard, are in their mid-60s so they don't move like they used to, and Brodie has A LOT of energy. There's no way a few daily walks will be enough for him. We have to let him run around the yard and we go to the dog park 2-4 times a week.

Thanks - I'll check out the Petsmart hotel.

ETA - Brodie LOVES Jack Russell Terriers. They're one of his favorite breeds at the dog park.

We are bringing Echappe (our cat) to the petsmart
hotel in huntington. She will be there for a week and 2 and a half days.

Look into that.
