Has anyone taken their dogs to a trainer and where did you take them?
The Petco by me does not have a trainer right now and the one place that I found is $200 for 6 weeks. Is that a lot?
My little girl needs to learn some manners and Mom needs to learn how to teach her.

Western Nassau or Queens works for me. I would appreciate the information when you get it.
I heard there are free group classes but I can't find any online. Has anyone heard of them?
What does a trainer do? Do they teach the owner to get the dog to listen? Do they give help with potty training? I need help in all areas I'm afraid.

Sandy is about 13 months old - they didnt seem to think it would be a problem. She needs to learn something. I'll take sit. lol

Re: Dog training
We took ours to preK for training at 4 months. By the end of the class he pretty much did everything. By 1 he did all the basic commands plus 'rollover' - the crowd's favorite!
Sometimes the puppies tend to pick their leader and they listen only to him. Unfortunately, mine's was the instructor But eventually, by 6 months he started listening to me too - well, sourt of!

All the classes have started so I have to wait for the next round. It will be the end of Oct or the end of Nov.
