I haven't seen it done, but I think you should totally do it! I would def. ask the RH if it would be ok to have them there. I would have them walk down the aisle then maybe you could ask a friend or neighbor to take them back home as soon as they are done. I was just reading an article about having pets in weddings and they had some good tips like not feeding or giving them water right before the ceremony, only use your dogs if they are not going to freak out at the lights and all the people, and then have someone who is good with them bring them back home after the ceremony.
My FH really wants our italian greyhound in the ceremony as the ring doggie, but we are also getting married at the hall and the hall is about an hour away from the house. I feel bad asking someone to leave for that long (about 2 hrs there and back) so i told him its not practical. But I want to get a tux for our doggie and include him in some pictures. I think that is a decent compromise. Maybe you can do something like that if the hall wont let you have them in your ceremony.
We wanted soooooooooo bad to have our dog as the ring bearer. We also got married at the RH but we didn't know what to do with him afterwards. He is such an anxious dog that with the load music and tons of people around he would not have been a happy camper.
