Doing nothing for v-day!

Doing nothing for v-day!

ive asked FH about 5 times what we are doing for V-day and he has yet to give me an answer.

i know its a made up holiday but is it so hard to do a little extra! i dont expect jewelry or anything (he isnt that guy) but just something.

our first valentine's day was soooo amazing and he really out did anything i had ever done before, but since that first one he has never really tried to come close.

is it just mine or is your FH lazy in love sometimes???

Well I am not doing anything either.....

I was going to cook dinner for him until the NYC Queens finished marking the tests early that means he was going to be home early. Then I was still going to cook for him but now my car is reading so I need to go pick up my car so I guess I will not even be seeing my FH....I will be eating with my mom....

It has been 3 v-day and timing *****....because we have not been able to do anything...

maybe he has something up his sleeves or he could just be overwhelmed with everything that is going on- mine almost forgot and I wasnt too upset because I know he had a lot on his plate with work, moving, and all the wedding planning, i am sure you will have a nice romantic day either way whether it is being home with him snugged on the couch or going out for dinner

Re: Doing nothing for v-day!

That stinks!!
Sometimes I feel like we need to accept who we are marrying and not all men are gung ho on the whole 'putting thought and effort into things'. Sad, I know, I can certainly relate. It stinks to have to lower your expectations just b/c your FH has NO expectations. Maybe he will surprise you, my FH has a funny way of surprising me after I've already thought that he has let me down. But I agree, just b/c the day means nothing to him, does not mean that it means nothing to you and he should realize that. As a couple sometimes these guys need to realize it's not always about how they feel, but how you make each other feel.
Hope you are pleasantly surprised!
Happy Valentine's Day

Me too. Fh will be working tonight so I'll be by myself, going to the gym and then home in bed watching tv.

You guys will be together, and thats whats important.

Don't feel bad, we're not doing anything special either... after working 10hrs the last thing I'm going to want to do is go out to an over-packed resteraunt and be rushed out... and then have to wake up at 5am for work tomorrow!

if this is important to you you need to tell him that. Maybe if he knew you anticipated something it would be easier for him. Men are not mind readers ( we all know this or life would be perfect ).

I have this thing about my b-day, kinda like you have for v-day. My FH can't take a hint, and when he tries to do something from the hip it turns out miserable.

Mine is lazy too- dont feel bad.

We have no $ for jewelry.

He asked what the budget was for v-day and I said $50 (there was a $50 watch box I was gonna get him) and he screams- FIFTY DOLLORS..EACH?? THATS TOO MUCH $

I'm just cooking dinner and brownies tonight and we got each other dollar store cards lol 2/1$ whatta bargain.

We will watch Supernanny and Apprentice tonight- lol really romantic

Appreciate your time together. Sometimes that's the best thing of all!

FH and I won't even see each other today In fact with our work schedules we've not seen each other since Sunday

Maybe he just can't afford to do anything extravegant...Or maybe he is going to surprise you!! You never know!! I think that our big night is going to be sundae's at Friendly's - LOL - We just went over our budget for the wedding - so Friendly's it is!!! No Biggie - Valentine's day is a VERY Commercial Holiday...Not Everyone can go crazy for it...I wouldn't take it to heart!!!

PS - Men ALWAYS have to be reminded!!! They don't have very good memory when it comes to the lovey dovey stuff!!

I think I'm more like your FH. My FH will go so over and above and although I truly appreciate his efforts, it makes me insane that he spends so much money. My birthday is a different story but Valentines Day to me, is just another day. I know I sound more like a guy.
Yesterday I got home even though he is sick and just got home from the doctor, he had hung hearts all over the apartment. That was cute.

I hope he surprises you!!
