Doing save-the-dates

Hey Guys...Im semi new here, been engaged since May and already have the hall and church booked, our wedding is Next year june, and FH and I decided to do SAVE-THE-DATES...any advice on them? do they have set the tone for the invitations? or can they be an entity all their own?

any advise will be appreciated

welcome! and you can do whatever u want! im using a picture for our engagement shoot and designing them myself and turning it into a magnet

THANK YOU! I have been checking the site out for a while but we are finally slowly merging into wedding planning mode!

oh thats cute! we aren't doing engagement pics though, at least for now thats the vote.

I especially wanted to do them because June is a prime month for people go to away and other weddings so I wanna make sure everyone knows to save our day for us!!

We are going to be doing a calendar type magnet and sending it out around the new year!

yeah def! if you go to search (at the top of the page) and type in save the dates, a lot of other people ideas should come up, u might want to try searching 'STD' also (appreviation on here for save the date)

Congrats and welcome!! You can pretty much do whatever you want. We did magnets-- pic in my album-- in the colors of the wedding, but you can use whatever colors you want. You should do a search for STDs to get ideas from other girls on here.

I got magnets off of EBay and went to VistaPrint and designed 'business' cards. Then stuck the business cards on the magnets. For the magnets, business cards, s&h, and postage it came out to $0.75 per STD Manget.

You can do what ever you want. It's your wedding, enjoy it!!!!

congratulations and welcome! in my opinion- the save the dates are a totally to themselves thing and dont necessarily have to look like the invite- but you could do them in your colors.

they can be anything you want. they do not set the tone for the rest of the wedding.
