Re: doing shots

I definitely had shots at JT at a wedding, and have pics to prove it lol. BUt that was two year ago. I'm glad you posted this, because I never even thought to ask my venue if they allow it. If not, my family will be devastated, jk!

hmm a lot of places don't allow it at the bar like publicly, for all guests, but you can usually get them if you ask for you and the bridal party

lol! If they argue with me about it I will reference your picture as evidence!

My friends will be devastated too!!! My FH wanted people to be handing out shots on the way out of the ceremony lol!

Re: doing shots

I have been to a few weddings were shots are not allowed. One i think was the majestic gardens??? I believe! Then some where out of state. I know sometimes the bride and groom could request if if they don't want people getting out of hand. The way around it?? Just ask for vodka on the rocks or whatever. HEHHEHE my family will find a way!

my venue doesn't allow shots either, they say it's about 'responsible bartending'. People will find a way around it. lol

Re: doing shots

I was at a wedding there last year, and there were definitely shots available! I dont think they were served in shot glasses, they were in regular drink glasses which made them a little bigger than a regular shot, which is fine by me!

Sisters wedding at Chateu Briand Last month wouldnt give shots either- What we did get was on the rocks glasses with like a double shot in it. IMO more dangerous casue we drank more than we would of but I see there point in not wanting to do so.

I went to a wedding a few weeks ago at the Woodlands and the bartender wouldn't serve shots so I got tequila on the rocks lol

HAHA....the last time we went to JT we actually made sure to ask. We've definitely been to weddings where it wasn't allowed, and the bartender actually said that he would get in trouble if someone saw him pour shots. Then we've been to other weddings where it was allowed during coctail hour, but not during the actual reception. Being that the FH is a fireman and my family is Polish, we need our shots LOL. We actually forgot to ask JT before we booked, but when we went the last time we were told 'of course you can have shots'.

MY BM said that guests are allowed to do shots, only at the bar.

I'm pretty sure we asked about shots, too. FH's family is ALL Irish and they want their shots!!! But like pp said, even if they don't allow it, there are ways around it.

my RH said the same thing, but there is a way around this!! lol
in the bridal suit they will def give you shots
in the reception they will just pour them in on the rocks glasses!!!

Re: doing shots

Like some other people said already, I've been to weddings where they 'don't allow shots'. Instead, the bartender gave everyone vodka or tequilla, etc 'up' (no ice) in a rocks glass. Same thing, just different glass. I can completely understand not wanting people to be fall-down drunk at a wedding though!
